“Implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights” Dublin Forum

The Irish Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade has announced that its annual human rights forum will have business and human rights as its theme. The title of the 14th DFAT-NGO Forum is “Implementing the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights” and it will take place on 7 November 2014 in Dublin Castle, with registration opening at 8:30am.

Speakers at the Forum will include business representatives, academics, members of civil society and officials from both Government and international organizations. It promises to be a valuable and engaging event, which should help shape the Irish Government’s approach to a national implementation plan for the United Nations Guiding Principles on business and human rights. The final programme will be available on the Department’s website on 17 October 2014, and queries can be sent to ngoforum@dfa.ie.

In the lead-up to the forum, I will be running a series of guest posts here on the blog, focusing on the topic of national plans for business and human rights. These will start next week, so remember to check back then.

  1. Hello Shane,

I would be very interested in attending the conference organised by the Irish government concerning the Irish NAP on Business and Human Rights as I have worked on these issues for some years in Switzerland. Is the conference open to academics and NGOs?

    Many thanks
    Mary
