Interested in studying for a PhD? Doctoral fellowships at the Irish Centre for Human Rights

The Irish Centre for Human Rights at NUI Galway is currently accepting applications for doctoral fellowships, which will begin at the end of October 2013 for a period of 12 months. These fellowships consist of an annual stipend of €16,000 and may be extended for an additional 12 months, dependent upon funding and progress. Doctoral fellows will be based in Galway and will engage in research, teaching and administrative tasks at the Irish Centre for Human Rights, in addition to pursuing their own doctoral research.  Those interested in applying should prepare the following:

  • A covering letter
  • A curriculum vitae
  • Two letters of reference
  • A statement of the proposed doctoral research topic (1000 words). Applicants should make contact with a potential supervisor from amongst the faculty at the Centre in advance of their application. I would welcome in particular proposals in the area of business and human rights (shane.darcy@nuigalway.ie).

These materials must be sent to humanrights@nuigalway.ie by 5pm on Monday 14 October 2013. More information is available on the Irish Centre for Human Rights website.
